Free play and the free development of movement are the two main pillars of Pikler's pedagogically valuable philosophy, to which we are strongly orientated. That is why there are no set instructions. Even the youngest children are invited to try out movement and gain all kinds of experiences with their own bodies through free play. This includes, for example, climbing onto the Stapelstein® Original, sitting in the bowl and spinning around, holding up the Stapelstein® elements, knocking them over, building new play worlds, turning them over, filling them, carrying them around and much more.
Children use their imagination to keep discovering new features of the Stapelstein® Original and the Stapelstein® Board and grow with the challenges. We recommend use from the age of one, as even the youngest children can discover free play and the free movement that comes with it without any specific instructions.
You can find specific game ideas and inspiration in our Stapelstein® Play Cards, digital Play Cards and in our Stapelstein® app (free for iOS and Android).
